It started
with a beer run.
No boardroom. No think tank. Just a local golf course, a missing beverage cart, and an idea called Gopher.
How we got here
Born on a golf course.
Built by neighbors.
A golf day, no beverage cart.
Founders John and Tom showed up for a relaxing round — only to find out there’d be no beverage cart that day. Willing to pay just about anything for a cold one, they had a thought: what if there were a network where neighbors helped neighbors get things done, at the price the customer named? They’d call it Gopher. The next morning, they were first in line to register Gopher, LLC.

The build
Years of getting it wrong.
We studied hundreds of marketplaces inside and out — and even signed up as workers ourselves to find where the real gaps were. The technology humbled us plenty. But awesome neighbors stuck with us through every misstep and kept spreading the word. We’ve since implemented a continuous improvement protocol to ensure the Gopher Marketplace is always cutting edge yet effortless with helping neighbors find great local service providers at a fair price.

We went from hard-to-get deliveries to small projects and quick tasks — and kept growing. Today 140,000+ neighbors use Gopher to request or provide deliveries, rides, junk removal, moving, home services, yard projects, and just about anything else the community needs.

Introducing Gopher Connect.
This year we’re bringing Gopher to business. Gopher Connect is our business extension to the Marketplace — on-demand labor for when a full-time hire doesn’t make sense but the part-time demand is real.
Introducing Gopher Deals.
To complete the community cycle, we’re including merchants and accomplished local service providers with the opportunity to showcase their business and/or unique services and offer exclusive “deals” to ALL Gopher users. This allows merchants to get the word out without having to pay commissions or fees. For the merchants, gone are the days of having to give up 30% of every transaction. Gopher will take care of the last mile seamlessly and for our every day low fees. For service providers, no need to pay for leads to maybe get a job. A huge win for everyone.
